Two wonderful resources are available for African violet and gesneriad collectors: the African Violet Society of America, Inc. (AVSA) and the American Gloxinia & Gesneriad Society (AGGS). While AVSA focuses primarily on African violets, and AGGS focuses primarily on the "gesneriad cousins," both societies provide many membership benefits such as growing tips, local affiliates, information-packed color magazines, national conventions and show/ sale listings — all for a nominal annual fee. You'll probably want to join both societies!
